WVU Medicines new Outpatient Rehab Center to open Monday [Video]

MORGANTOWN, W.Va (WDTV) – In a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, officials with WVU Medicine showcased their new $30 million project. The Outpatient Rehabilitation Center at the University Towne Center in Morgantown will offer physical, occupational and speech therapy services. The two-story building features over 20 treatment rooms, a gym, pool, and an array of therapy focused rooms. Between the clinic and sports medicine section, the rehab center is expected to have 35,000 to 40,000 visits in a year. Jennifer Kostik Johnson, Rehab Services Director with WVU Medicine, says the biggest key for the rehab center is convenience.

“WVU Medicine does not have, here in Morgantown, an outpatient rehab center,” said Kostik Johnson. “It’s good to have a place that’s a one stop shop that they can come see their doctor, then get transferred to rehab and have that continuity of care before their physician and clinician here with PT …
