GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Good food, good fun and a good cause took over DeVos Place Saturday evening.
Barley, BBQ & Beats is a fundraising event that supports Hospice of Michigan. The money it raises helps ensure quality end-of-life care, regardless of age, diagnosis or financial circumstances.

Over 1,000 people headed to DeVos Place Saturday to support — and sample barbecue and bourbon from 22 different vendors.
“Thank you, West Michigan, for showing up for hospice care tonight,” said Marcie Hillary, executive vice president and chief experience officer for HOM.
Attendees were also treated to a special appearance by Grammy Award-nominated singer Gavin DeGraw.
The singer even went a step further and held a private meet-and-greet with hospice nurses.
“You get to the point where the miracle of somebody coming out of their ailment may not be there, but the mercy element is being provided by hospice,” DeGraw said.
