We All Rise hosts Juneteenth celebration at Joannes Park [Video]

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – Though the official Juneteenth holiday starts this coming Wednesday, Green Bay’s African American Resource Center, “We All Rise” held its fifth annual Juneteenth celebration on Saturday.

It started at noon and is going on until about 9 p.m. The event strives to bring together and empower the local African American community by acknowledging their contributions to society and their resilience in the face of adversity.

With Father’s Day on Sunday, this year’s event specifically highlights black men who are caregivers. People were able to nominate those who have been significant figures in their community.

It’s not just the Green Bay community, people from all across the Midwest also joined in.
