During this third event of the series, Noelle Hause focuses on the eighth IECMH Guiding Principle: Each infant is unique. The broad range of individual differences among children contributes to variability in the timing of developmental milestones.

It’s important to recognize each child’s individual characteristics, even though they have no control over them. While a child is never responsible for a caregiver’s well-being, caregivers may perceive and react to a child’s traits in different ways. IECMH professionals need to consider the unique attributes a child brings to their relationships to understand the complex adaptations made by the child and their caregivers.
