[VIDEO] Dennis Collins Checks the Numbers on a 1970 Corvette LT-1 Before Taking It Home

YouTube master Dennis Collins is on the prowl again in his latest video, hoping to confirm that a 1970 Corvette first-year LT-1 is the real deal.

Dennis takes us to the Texas dealership where he found the Daytona Yellow Corvette coupe that looks to be about as original as they come.

The only problem is, his buddy Darrell at the dealership says the previous owner – who has been undergoing treatment for cancer for about a year – can’t locate the paperwork proving the car is a genuine LT1 that left the St. Louis factory with a 350/370 horsepower solid-lifter engine and an M21 four-speed manual transmission.

A little sleuthing by Dennis and his cohort Alex, however, soon leads them to match up the carburetor, pad stamp, casting number, and rear end numbers and they conclude that it is indeed a real LT1, one of only 1,287 built that year, according to the Corvette Black Book. As insurance, …
