Vast majority of job candidates want to know if AI is used for their applications [Video]

Eight in 10 job candidates want to be informed if employers are using AI to assess job applications, research from Hays Ireland has found.

At the moment, a third of companies and organisations are using AI, and 14% of those use the technology to evaluate job applications. This includes scanning CVs or scoring job candidates to help filter and identify the most suitable candidates based on the job description.

Over half (54%) of organisations currently inform potential candidates about their use of AI in the recruitment processes. 70% of employers believe CV reviews remain the most effective assessment formats when screening applications.

Professionals themselves are also using AI tools to make their CV’s tailor fit specific job requirements. A third (32%) of 18–24-year-olds have used AI for a job application, while only 18% of over 50-year-olds have.
