Uniting NSW.ACT to lodge another State Significant Development Application to redevelop aged care home into continuum of care facility [Video]

The existing buildings of Uniting Wesley Gardens in Belrose, 19km northeast of Sydney’s CBD, are reaching the end of their asset life, state the Not For Profit. 

It is inviting the community to have its say on a proposed redevelopment which “seeks to respond to the sustained need for high quality, contemporary seniors’ accommodation within the Northern Beaches, as the ageing population increases.” 

Uniting NSW.ACT wants to build:  

• Around 150 independent living apartments for seniors   

• Around 120 residential aged care places, including specific areas for those living with dementia   

• Community spaces such as a pool, gym, hairdressing salon, clubhouse, café, cinema and chapel   

• Landscaped gardens   

• Village hub with two outdoor recreation areas to create spontaneous opportunities for connection, located within a natural bushland setting. One green space will include areas for exercise and other activities, while the other green space will include spots for quiet contemplation.
