What is the treatment for very early-stage bladder cancer?
In very early stages, the primary treatment is Transurethral Resection of Bladder Tumor (TURBT), which can be performed using laser or electrocautery via cystoscopy. This procedure involves removing the entire tumor, which is then sent to a pathology lab for examination.

How is bladder cancer staged and diagnosed?
After the TURBT procedure, the tumor is graded into stages from one to four based on the pathology report. Imaging studies like CT scans or MRIs may also help determine the stage of the disease in the early process.

What is intravesical chemotherapy?
For early stages of bladder cancer, intravesical chemotherapy may be required. This involves inserting a small, painless tube through the urethra into the bladder to deliver chemotherapeutic agents. This treatment can be administered weekly or monthly.

What are the treatment options for stage 2 or more advanced bladder cancer?
For stage 2 or more advanced bladder cancer, removing the entire bladder surgically might be necessary. This can be done using open, laparoscopic, or robot-assisted methods.

What happens after the bladder is removed?
After bladder removal, urine can be passed by creating a pouch from other organs like the large intestine, which is placed in the pelvis to allow natural urination. Alternatively, if this is contraindicated, an external pouch can be created outside the abdomen to collect urine.

Are there additional treatments for later stages of bladder cancer?
In later stages, radiation therapy or systemic chemotherapy might be required to prevent recurrences and manage the disease.
