This healthy snack sold in N.Y. has been recalled for possible salmonella contamination [Video]

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Health-conscious snackers beware: One item is being recalled over a possible salmonella contamination.

Sunco and Frenchie LLC is recalling its Terrafina brand Macadamia in the Raw product because it has the potential to be contaminated, according to a notice posted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Though headquartered in New Jersey, Sunco and Frenchie’s Terrafina brand is distributed across New York, mostly in retail stores.

Consumers should be on the lookout for Terrafina brand 6 oz plastic containers with a light green colored front label and a best-by date of May 2025.

While no illnesses have been reported to date, according to the FDA, the agency still warns that salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
