The Spot Was Really ITCHY! – Amy | Melanoma | The Patient Story

Amy loves the sun, and when she was young, she didn’t take sun protection as seriously as she knew she should have. At 17, some spots on her skin raised concerns, so she started seeing a dermatologist. Later on, a spot appeared on her chest that became really itchy and began to bleed. This was Amy’s first experience with Stage 1B Melanoma. She would have a recurrence with Stage 1B and 1A as well.

In this cancer vlog, Amy stresses the importance of sun protection, getting a second opinion, and how valuable self-research is. It was tough at times for Amy to get through to her doctors, and she is very thankful she was brave enough to self advocate!
