Let’s talk about about clinical trials, an award winning campaign, and some sun safety tips. May 20th was Clinical Trials Day. At the FDA we know the future of clinical trials depends on generating evidence in simpler and more efficient ways. This includes expanding access to clinical trials.
Collaboration with clinical trial participants, medical product developers, and the clinical research community is key to solving scientific challenges, and ultimately helping to ensure patients receive the safe and effective treatments they deserve. We look forward to continuing our work with these communities to advance innovative methods of clinical trial design.
And now a quick webinar FYI. On June 11th at 3pm, the FDA will host a public webinar on our tobacco education campaign, The Real Cost.
This webinar will commemorate the 10th anniversary of this award-winning tobacco use prevention campaign. Presenters will provide information about the impact of the campaign on reducing youth tobacco use and the importance of public education to FDA’s comprehensive tobacco regulation efforts. Please join us!
And just in time for Memorial Day, FDA has a few sun safety facts to share. For example, did you know that no sunscreen is waterproof, though some may be labeled “water resistant.” All sunscreens, whether labeled as water resistant or not, must provide directions on when to reapply to ensure protection. Always be sure to read the label on your sunscreen and follow the directions on how often to reapply, especially if you’ll be in and out of the water.
