A new drug trial has proven to dramatically improve sleep apnoea by up to 60 per cent in Australia.
The medical condition affects about 38 per cent of Australians, leaving them reliant on mechanical support, but a weight loss jab has been found to “cure” the disorder.
About 470 people around the world have taken part in the trial, with some on the active drug alone and others with a mask and machine used at night.
After a year, participants shed nearly 20 per cent of their weight and the severity of their sleep apnoea reduced by 60 per cent.
