GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – We’ve been seeing more of the sun these days and getting outside. We’re also looking ahead to a really nice weekend with summer-like temperatures.

A lot of us want to be out on the water or at least in the sunshine, so let’s keep yourself and the kids safe this summer.

The American Cancer Society wants to remind you that skin cancer is by far the most common cancer in the United States. As the weather warms up, it’s a good time to talk about prevention and education around skin cancer.

Reducing UV exposure is crucial, so stay in the shade when possible.

Also, wear clothing that covers your arms and legs and a hat that covers the face, head, ears and neck.

Regularly use broad-spectrum sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 30.
