Summer is here and so is the struggle for parents trying to keep their children busy with fun activities that are also healthy and educational. For parents who have children with physical disabilities, that task can be even more challenging.
This year, California Children’s Services (CCS) has several specialized all-day events planned through the County’s Medical Therapy Units (MTU), which provide physical and occupational therapy to children with physical disabilities or chronic health conditions. The events offer educational games, instructional crafts and adaptive sports to support healthy lifestyles and physical fitness.
The first one was held at the MTU in Escondido and covered health education through interactive, science-based activities.
