Substance Misuse Response Division – Health Department [Video]

Categories
Cancer in Children and Adolescents

The Knox County Health Department collaborates with community partners to prevent overdose deaths, increase awareness about factors that lead to preventable deaths, and strengthen community responsiveness to substance misuse.

We strive for an overdose-free county where people feel no stigma when seeking out treatment services and have the support system they need to achieve their recovery goals. Substance use disorder is curable, and both substance misuse and overdose deaths are preventable.

KCHD’s Substance Misuse Response Division houses:

  • All4Knox, a joint substance misuse response initiative of Knox County and the City of Knoxville
  • Public health education on substance misuse and related topics
  • Naloxone and fentanyl test strip distribution
  • Community HIV and Hepatitis C testing
  • Peer navigation for substance use and mental health disorders

Our division also works closely with the KCHD’s epidemiology department to monitor drug-related trends and communicate findings to community partners as needed. Explore this page to see our resources for you, a loved one or your business/organization.
