Sponsorships may help Omaha pickleball club grow footprint [Video]

A new sponsorship inked by a local pickleball club is not only a sign of pickleball’s growth but also will help further its expansion.

Pickleball Omaha announced that the club has named MD West ONE and Makovicka Physical Therapy its first official champion sponsor healthcare partners.

Justin Drake, Pickleball Omaha’s president, said the sponsorship will allow the club, which recently formed a nonprofit organization called Grow Pickleball Omaha, to work toward maintaining and establishing more dedicated space for pickleball.

The club’s home courts at Prairie Lane Park will need updates in a couple of years, he said. The group also has committed $30,000 toward a $300,000 plan to convert tennis courts at Churchich Park to permanent pickleball courts. The conversion is part of a …
