Sky News presenter makes massive slip-up over OJ Simpson’s death [Video]

A Sky News presenter made an enormous slip-up following the death of OJ Simpson, accidentally referring to it as a ‘murder’.

The former NFL athlete died on Wednesday aged 76, following a battle with cancer.

He gained worldwide notoriety during the infamous 1994 trial for murder, which lasted nearly 10 months, before sensationally being acquitted after the deaths of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ron Goldman, to which he had pleaded ‘absolutely 100% not guilty’.

Appearing to refer to the case, and the death of OJ, Sky News reporter Gareth Barlow accidentally combined the two.

He said, during Friday’s breakfast programme: ‘This morning, we’ll get the reaction to the death of the murder of OJ Simpson. He’s died at the age of 76.’

Gareth made the blunder while reading out the day’s headlines, but he wasn’t the only one to have fumbled over his words.
