School children know more about vitamins than adults, survey finds [Video]

After examining separate surveys of 2,000 adults and 1,000 children aged between 6 and 16, it was found that the younger generation outperformed their elders in most of the questions.

The study revealed that 20 per cent of youngsters knew there are 13 different vitamins, compared to a mere 5 per cent of adults. Moreover, 38 per cent of schoolchildren were aware that our bodies can naturally produce vitamin D, while only 31 per cent of adults knew this fact.

Furthermore, children were more knowledgeable about the benefits of vitamin D for bone growth and vitamin A for vision improvement. They also understood that vitamins C and D boost our immune system, according to research conducted by health food firm Plenish.
