Sallys on Broadway hosts 9th annual Austin Strong Ride and Drive [Video]

SPRINGVILLE, Iowa (KCRG) – From motorcycles and cars and trucks to side-by-sides and roadsters people hit the road Sunday for the 9th annual Austin Strong Ride and Drive. The ride put on by The Austin Strong Foundation and Sally’s on Broadway is to raise money to help fight childhood cancer.

Along with raising money and awareness for childhood cancer, the ride is also in memory of Austin Smith.

Austin was just four years old when he was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma or DIPG, a rare form of brain cancer. Austin died in 2016, a little over a year after his diagnosis.

Austin’s family were customers at Sally’s on Broadway in Springville and when others heard the news, they wanted to help.
