Raising awareness on World Ovarian Cancer Day [Video]

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Wednesday is World Ovarian Cancer Day, a day to help raise awareness about ovarian cancer, one of the most deadly cancers prevalent among women.

Experts say about one in 78 women will get ovarian cancer and a large portion of those are diagnosed at later stages.

AM Extra was joined by ovarian cancer survivor and board president of the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Oregon and Southwest Washington Anna Demers and gynecologic oncologist Dr. Julia Fehniger to talk more about ovarian cancer.
