Radiation NP Reflects on How ONS Congress Shaped Her Career [Video]

Cancer Nursing Today Contributor Fatemeh Youssefi, PhD, RN, OCN, speaks with Shaghayegh Rezaie, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, OCN, of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, at the 49th Annual Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Congress.

Ms. Rezaie reflected on the career path inspiration that she received when she first attended an ONS Congress in San Antonio many years ago.

“My first time that I came to congress, I decided that I want to be oncology nurse,” she said.

Since then, Ms. Rezaie, a nurse practitioner (NP), prioritized attending the annual event for education, inspiration, and more.

“I try to make it every year to the congress, just to get recharged,” she said.

Ms. Rezaie shared highlights and learning opportunities that she had been enjoying at the ONS Congress.

“I tried to attend most of the radiation courses, and it’s kind of a refresher for me,” she said. “I’m a radiation NP, and then the other sessions were all the new modalities… I’m learning new stuff.”
