Pittsburgh titan Sy Holzer dies at 75 [Video]

Former PNC Bank President and CEO Sy Holzer died Sunday at the age of 75.

His obituary in the Post-Gazette says Holzer’s parents were Holocaust survivors.

Mr. Holzer served on boards including the Pittsburgh Opera and Fred Rogers Foundation, but his efforts on behalf of the Hillman Cancer Center stand out.

Holzer helped to raise more than $200 million for the cancer center.

KDKA Radio host Michael Bartley posted on Facebook that he just spoke with Holzer last week.

“I just talked with him Thursday and he was so happy as we laughed out loud as we always did,” Bartley wrote.
