Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders visits former and current cancer and sickle cell patients at the Children’s Hospital Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colo. on Monday. Sanders’ working partnership with Aflac, who has donated significant funds to child cancer research and created a high-tech stuffed animal ducks for child cancer patients, has led to multiple similar visits to different hospital. Sanders, who has undergone multiple surgical procedures on his leg and foot in recent years for a life-threatening issue, told the pediatric patients they would “win” their respective health battles and that he understood their challenges.
