Peoria kids open lemonade stand for St. Jude fundraiser [Video]

PEORIA (25News Now) – A group of Peoria kids is helping raise money for St. Jude cancer patients through a lemonade stand on Saturday, July 29.

The lemonade stand will be on the corner of Hollyridge Circle and Bigelow Street from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The fundraising team, named “Kickin’ Cancer in the Knolls”, will sell lemonade, baked goods and bracelets for the third consecutive year.

The children run the lemonade stand all by themselves and even promote it on social media.

“I sometimes look around and I imagine the kids sitting in [their hospital] bed,” volunteer Kenneth Baker said. “It feels good in my heart to have an impact on helping those people and helping them live longer.”

They raised $16,000 in 2023. The goal is $12,000 this year. 100% of proceeds go to St. Jude.
