(WALA) – People Engaged in Recovery, was founded in 2018 and is a non-profit, peer-run recovery community organization with the singular purpose of helping individuals obtain and maintain recovery from substance use disorder. It. All P.E.I.R. services are confidential and provided by Certified Recovery Support Specialists at no-cost. P.E.I.R. serves 20 counties in South Alabama with two recovery community centers – one in Mobile and one in Dothan. We provide mentoring, a safe and supportive, substance-free environment for peer-led groups for people with substance use disorder and their families. We have a team of outreach specialists that help with services – including connection to assessments, options for, and transportation to state-certified detox facilities, residential and outpatient rehabilitation.
