Penn State Health unveils pediatric ambulance [Video]

(WHTM) — Penn State Health now has an ambulance specially equipped to help infants and children.

The health network unveiled the unit Tuesday.

It has a transport isolette for infants, and a thermal system to heat or cool a child, if necessary.

There’s also a ventilator and robust oxygen system.

Up to five caregivers can ride along if necessary.

“When you have a robust system like we do and the support that we need to provide, you need extra assets to be able to get there in a timely manner and be available when people need us,” Daniel Schaeffer, Life Lion chief flight nurse, said.

“Without the LifeLion Ambulance, Joella would not be alive today. They came and got her so fast, so efficiently,” Janette Migliori, mother of a care recipient, said.

“I think its cool because it saves a lot of kids,” Joella Migliori said.
