Passage of Wisconsin Act 34 [Video]

As first responders, we face significant exposures on a daily basis. The ramifications of these exposures can result in significant health concerns, which could put our future health in jeopardy. These range from various cancer diagnoses, cardiac conditions, and PTSD issues. We face these issues head-on, and with pride. However, this oftentimes leaves many of us facing an uncertain future.

On Wednesday, Governor Evers signed 2023 Wisconsin Act 34, an important bill which would offer police officers, firefighters, and emergency service providers the ability to negotiate the future of our healthcare coverage. This provides first responders some relief, knowing that we can have a discussion with our employer, and hopefully address issues through insurance coverage.
