If you’ve got a chunky cat or dog and no amount of diet and exercise seems to help them lose weight, it may be time to start them on the most popular weight-loss trend of the day.

Bloomberg is reporting that Ozempic-style drugs for hefty pets may be on the way!

A recent study from the startup Okava Pharmaceuticals found that an appetite regulator like Ozempic helped cats shed 5% of their body weight in just under four months!

Small-animal obesity expert Alex German recently said that new “pet-friendly Ozempic-style drugs” would work best as a preventative measure instead of treating existing conditions like diabetes in our pets.
