HELENE F. STOAK

Helene F. Stoak, 67, from Duncannon passed away unexpectedly from Acute Leukemia on Friday, May 31, 2024.

She was born Nov. 14, 1956, in Baton Rouge, La., to the late Robert S. and Renee C. Friedman. She was raised in Ann Arbor, Mich., and State College, Pa.

She was the devoted and loving wife of James Stoak for nearly 22 years. They lived in Duncannon with their dog Belle, which she doted on and who frequently appeared as a special guest on her work Zoom calls.

She graduated from the University of Rochester in 1974 with a B.A. in political science. She most recently worked for Westat as a field supervisor for the National Health and Aging Study (NHATS). The NHATS is conducted by Westat of Rockville, Md., on behalf of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She …
