STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Nearly 200 parishioners and friends gathered at St. Christopher’s R.C. Church to honor NYPD Detective Lt. Michael P. McInnis for his support of the Staten Island community and beyond at a Mass and a communion breakfast that followed.

The Mass was celebrated by Rev. Michael Cichon, pastor of the Grant City church, and spiritual advisor of the Staten Island Holy Name Society.

McInnis, who is president of the New York Holy Name Society and vice president of the National Holy Name Society, was lauded not only for his service in protecting our community, but for his goodwill toward others.

Staten Island Holy Name President Peter Tesoriero commented: “Jesus said, ‘Whoever wants to be the greatest among you, will serve the others,’ before reading a plaque inscribed with the words, “I was hungry and you gave me food, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.(Matthew 25:35)”
