No Mental Health Board waitlist at Lincoln Regional Center, DHHS says [Video]

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – For the first time in nearly six years the Lincoln Regional Center does not have a Mental Health Board waitlist, the Department of Health and Human Services Division of Behavioral Health announced Thursday.

DHHS said the Mental Health Board waitlist at the regional center was reduced to zero as of May 8, indicating their progress on meeting the treatment demands of the State of Nebraska.

DHHS said they were able to accomplish this by increasing the number of staff which allowed them to better assess the use of beds and increase the number of beds that could be filled. They also said they worked to advance patients through their treatment plans in situations where they could, while ensuring the patient had a good plan for discharge from the center.
