New top cop in southeast Kansas [Video]

COLUMBUS, Kan. — The City of Columbus, Kansas has a new police chief.

It’s Kyle Clark, who had been a lieutenant and was serving as interim chief — following the death of Jason Daniels last month after a battle with colon cancer.

Clark has been with the Columbus Police Department for more than a decade. He’s also a native of Cherokee County, and comes from a family of law enforcement officers, including both his father and grandfather.

Clark graduated from Pittsburg State University with degrees in criminal justice and justice studies. He also spent time there as an officer with the university’s police department.
