The study, conducted by Lund University in Sweden, found that people with tattoos have a 21% higher risk of developing lymphoma, regardless of the tattoo’s size, Fox News reported.

Lymphoma, according to the American Cancer Society (ACS), is a cancer that starts in cells that are part of the body’s immune system. Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, according to ACS is one of the most common cancers in the nation.

The study included 11,905 people, according to Lund University’s website. Of this number, according to the study, 2,938 had lymphoma when they were between the ages of 20 and 60 years old.
