OLATHE, Kan. — New federal funding for a local nonprofit. That was the news coming from U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) while in town Wednesday.
Kids TLC provides life saving treatment for Kansas children with mental health issues. Federal funding like this is crucial to continue their work.

A major announcement Wednesday from Moran. Local nonprofit Kids TLC receiving $3 million in federal funding toward their $15.5 million capital campaign.
“Saw a program that is doing wonderful things to change the lives of young people and to bring them and their families together, but i also saw facilities that were aged and in need of attention,” Moran said.
According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, mental health challenges are the leading cause of poor life outcomes in young people.
