N. Charleston community to celebrate the lives of local cancer survivors [Video]

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – Sunday is National Cancer Survivors Day, and Lowcountry members will celebrate and honor those who have fought and are fighting the disease.

As a part of an international event to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, communities throughout America, Canada and other countries are joining together. This happens every year on the first Sunday of June.

Those who take part “will unite in a symbolic celebration” that honors the millions of people across the globe who have survived cancer or are currently living with it.

The Miss Cancer Warrior Organization, which is responsible for the event, hopes doing this will help draw attention to the daily challenges that those suffering from the disease have and continue to face.
