It took only seconds Saturday for participants in a marathon in North Omaha to complete the race, but that made each step all the more meaningful.
Participants walked just 26.2 steps in a “mini marathon” at The Highlander on North 30th Street to raise awareness about hereditary cancers.
Denise Ibsen Cole started the walk eight years ago, but this was the first time it’s been held in North Omaha. The walk was held in connection with Nebraska Medicine’s Community Wellness Collaborative, which is located at The Highlander.
