DALLAS — Getting through high school can be tough for some teenagers but navigating it without a family can feel impossible for children in the foster care system.

Today’s Wednesday’s Child is 14-year-old Charlie, who hopes a forever family will adopt him this summer so that he can begin his sophomore year with the love and support he desires.

An adventure at the Dallas World Aquarium quickly turned into the brightest of days for Charlie. He got to see colorful and rare animals from all over the world. 

His favorites were the sharks, crocodiles, and eagles.

“I’m feeling good today because today was one of the best days I’ve ever had,” he said.

Charlie says his freshman year has been extra tough because he needed the reassurance and guidance of a supportive family.
