Meet MLBs Jason Marquis, Frank Menechino at free Staten Island prostate cancer screening [Video]

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A West Brighton event next week will feature free prostate cancer screenings and the chance to meet two former Major League Baseball (MLB) stars with local roots.

Pitcher Jason Marquis and infielder Frank Menechino will headline the Monday event from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Broadway YMCA, according to Richmond University Medical Center (RUMC), which will host the event.

Medical professionals at the Men’s Health Awareness Month event will provide free Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) testing, a blood test that tests for PSA levels in men, according to RUMC.

“Embracing the significance of Men’s Health Awareness and ensuring regular PSA screenings is a vital step towards a healthier tomorrow,” Dr. Richard Maggio, a urologist at RUMC, said. “By prioritizing our well-being, we unlock the power to take control of our health.”
