NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – A Lowcountry clinic is one of the only centers in the country that offers a one-stop-shop for head and neck cancer treatment.

While there are many side effects and impacts of all types of cancer, when it affects the head and neck area it arguably brings some extra challenges. At Trident Medical Center’s Head and Neck specialists, they work as a team to remove a patient’s cancerous tumors then turn right around and create a prosthetic for the patient in-house so the patient can feel like themselves again.

A prosthetic is typically needed when a patient loses an ear, eye, nose or part of their mouth as a result of skin, head or neck cancers, but they are also able to treat trauma patients, patients with congenital conditions and cleft palate babies.
