Mayor Gaylor Baird shares updates on permanent housing project to end homelessness in Lincoln [Video]

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird and community partners shared that significant steps are being made on the city’s new permanent supportive housing project to end chronic homelessness at a news conference Thursday morning.

“This announcement underscores how the City of Lincoln and our community are committed to growing an equitable and inclusive city where all residents are safe, healthy, housed, and have the opportunity to thrive,” Mayor Gaylor Baird said.

The permanent supportive housing location includes affordable housing and supportive designs that build independent living and tenancy skills and connect homeless individuals with health care, treatment and employment services.

Mayor Gaylor Baird was joined by Peter Hind, Urban Development Department Director; Dan Grasso, Sinclair Hille Design Architect and Principal; Topher Hansen, CenterPointe President and CEO; Jeff Chambers, UNL Center on Children, Families, and the Law Senior Project Director and City Councilmember Brodey Weber.
