MANHEIM TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WHTM) — The Manheim Township Public Library is unveiling a new collection of books to help families dealing with cancer.
The Library, collaborating with Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health’s Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute, created the Cancer Survivorship Collection, an arrangement of books hand-picked by patients and staff to help people and families who are affected by cancer.
The collection will be launched on Wednesday, July 3.
“We want folks to come here and feel like this is a place that they can be, belong, and feel included,” said Rennae Newman, a Grant Writer and Fundraiser at the Manheim Township Library said. “And providing resources like this makes them feel like the community is here to support them. So these resources are another way to do that. We are walking with them. We’re providing resources that they need.”
The 60-book collection is set to be available through the end of July.
