MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio (WJW) — A man faces attempted murder charges after a Maple Heights clinic worker was stabbed multiple times with a knife on Wednesday.
According to Maple Heights police, 24-year-old Jason Halasz, who was a patient at the facility, stabbed a 49-year-old caregiver in the neck and chest. The victim was first stabbed while treating the patient in a room, then again while chasing after the patient down a hallway.
The stabbing happened at about 1:20 p.m. at the Signature Health clinic along Southgate Park Boulevard.

Another employee at the facility intervened by throwing a chair at the patient, slowing him down long enough for a security guard to subdue him at gunpoint, according to a press release from Maple Heights police.
Officers arrived and arrested Halasz, who’s now charged with attempted murder and felonious assault.
