(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Good posture doesn’t just make us look better, it can also make us feel better. Dr. Sherry McAllister, President of the Foundation of Chiropractic Progress, joined FOX21 Morning News on Tuesday, June 25th, to talk about the importance of good posture and offer some tips for improving it.

“We do recognize poor posture when we see it but if you break it down to its finest pieces it ends up being something that looks like a shrimp,” said McAllister. “Shrimp posture” is the rounding of the shoulders and the dropping of the head which can impact breathing and cause back pain. Forward head posture also known as “tech neck” is part of shrimp posture too. McAllister said when it comes to posture “practice makes permanence, so the more you shrimp, the worse it gets.”
