Local poverty-fighting organization celebrates 60 years [Video]

The non-profit aims to eliminate causes of poverty for people all over the county.  

Their services provide help to everyone from children under five to the elderly. Leaders tell first edition that even after 60 years, they show no sign of slowing down. 

“What we do is a holistic approach for a family. Not only are we providing early childhood education, but we’re also providing utility assistance,” said CEO Linda Carrillo. “We’re providing any type of assistance that will help them overcome that poverty, and what we don’t provide inhouse we go outsourcing to community partners.” 

Through community partnerships, the agency is able to provide everything from tuition assistance to affordable housing.
