Live Bald 2024 raising money for childhood cancer research [Video]

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Dozens gathered in Huntsville Saturday at Stovehouse for the 7th annual Live Bald Charity Event.

It’s an event designed to raise money for research on childhood cancer through the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. The cause is close to the hearts of many including organizers who helped put it together like Daniel Shaughnessy.

“Every two minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer, it’s a wonderful foundation and we love supporting them and it’s really fun,” Shaughnessy said. “You get to watch your friends get their head shaved and it brings awareness to the issue.”

Lived Bald is the yearly flagship fundraiser hosted by the Ancient Order of Hibernians’ Huntsville Division. All of the money raised goes to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, which raises money for childhood cancer research to make sure kids who get sick can live long and healthy lives.
