Little Blessings Veteran Outreach receives a helping hand [Video]

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Since 2018, Little Blessings Veteran Outreach has helped dozens of veterans and their families heal with horses. The nonprofit organization uses equine-assisted therapy to help veterans in the community.

Now, 13 Action News and the Yark Automotive Group are giving them a helping hand.

Bryan Gowecki served in the Marine Corps for four years with two tours of duty overseas. He began battling Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and addiction not long after he returned home.

“I did a lot of drugs, I drank a lot of alcohol. I was pretty low in life, I was homeless,” Gowecki said.

In the quiet moments of working with the horses, Gowecki has found his voice again. And he is not the only one who turned to Little Blessings for support.

“I could be in here crying and they’ll come up to you and put their big old heads on their shoulders, it’s just a peace,” Jackie Pacheco, a veteran, …
