Liberty University opens new Emergency Operations Center [Video]

Liberty University held a grand opening for its newly renovated Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday.

Marcus Tinsley, vice president of security and public safety, said the opening of the EOC, located at 4550 Mayflower Drive, was the culmination of a multi-year project.

“This is a dream that has been living within our hearts for many years, because of our founder, Dr. Jerry Falwell. He was famous for saying if it’s Christian, it ought to be better … and as we stand here today, we used that mantra to build this emergency operations center,” Tinsley said to open the ceremony.

“At Liberty University, we prioritize the safety and security of our community, without exception; and this emergency operations center is a testament to that.”
