YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) – A Midstate boy who died of cancer lives on.

Dakota Dixon was from Glen Rock. He was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive brain cancer in October 2023.

“He never complained. Not once did that boy complain about anything,” said Dakota’s dad Nick Dixon.

“He always had a smile on his face even while he was throwing up,” said Dakota’s mom Alicia Dixon.

Dakota’s mom says while he was going through treatment, “All he wanted to do is send balloons to other kid’s rooms and give and help and create duffel bags for other kids.”

Dakota passed away on May 13, at the age of seven. But not without a fight.

“There was a lot of times in there where the doctors just couldn’t explain why he was better,” said Alicia Dixon.
