Warmer weather means time in the pool or beach for many people.Pools are opening and people are headed outdoors for time on the water.Unfortunately, an estimated 4,000 children drown each year in the United States.That’s an average of 11 drownings per day.Children ages one to four have the highest drowning rates, with most occurring in swimming pools.If you have a pool, don’t forget to review pool safety with your family and guests.From fences to CPR training, there are things you can do to lower the risk.You can find checklists for swimming safety on many websites.And don’t forget sunscreen.Skin cancer remains the most common cancer.We need sunscreen on cloudy days too because most UV rays penetrate cloud cover.Make sure you wear sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or above.Whether you are headed to a pool, beach, or just enjoying the warmer weather outdoors, let’s make sure we are doing all we …
