Kentucky Humane Society hosts CARE-a-van clinic in Pleasure Ridge Park | News from WDRB [Video]

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Pet owners were able to get their furry friends some on-the-go vet care Friday.

Louisville Metro Councilman Dr. Rick Blackwell, D-12, partnered with the Kentucky Humane Society to host a CARE-a-van clinic at the Southwest Government Center on Dixie Highway.

The mobile veterinary clinic travels to neighborhoods across the city to offer affordable pet care. Services include vaccines, heartworm tests, microchips, nail trims, spay and neuter surgeries and more.

One woman who stopped by Friday’s clinic said she recently took in two stray cats, but couldn’t afford treatment.

“I’m just truly grateful,” Bibianna Ostrand said. “I’m trying to support healthy animals in our neighborhoods, and they’re all supporting me. That is great.”

The CARE-a-van clinic will be set up again this Monday, June 24, at the KHS Main Campus on Steedly Drive.
